IT STARTED WITH A SINGLE PIECE OF FURNITURE

our story

In the early ’90s, Burt came home to Roslyn after a long fishing season in Alaska. One of the first things he and Dawn brought into their home was a simple, well-crafted sofa table—nothing flashy, just something that felt right.

That piece stuck. Not because of what it was, but because of what it represented: care, craftsmanship, and a life built with intention.

Over the years, that mindset shaped everything. From building homes to working closely with homeowners, Burt and Dawn built a reputation rooted in trust, quality, and showing up for people.

Abourezk & Co. grew naturally from that foundation—an extension of the same belief that good pieces deserve to be kept, lived with, and passed on.

A smiling woman with long brown hair and a man with a beard and short gray hair, both sitting outdoors on a sunny day.
Four people and a dog sitting on a large rock outdoors during daytime, with trees and a partly cloudy sky in the background.

The way we started is still the way we operate today — honoring what’s been made, keeping good pieces in motion, and helping people find something that feels like it was meant to be theirs.

more than a second life

What began as a focus on craftsmanship and care has grown into something bigger.

Keeping well-made furniture in circulation isn’t just practical—it’s intentional. It means less waste, more respect for what already exists, and a different way of thinking about how we fill our homes.

That mindset shows up in everything we do—from the pieces we carry to the way we give back. Supporting efforts like Habitat for Humanity is one small way we help extend the life and purpose of good materials even further.

Because this has never just been about furniture. It’s about what we choose to keep—and what we choose to carry forward.
